SURPRISE!!
My wife Yoli and I are so excited to FINALLY share the news that we are having a BABY! As I just typed that right now, I started to tear up! It’s such an amazing feeling and I’m so happy and already in love with someone I haven’t even met yet! Let me start from the beginning because there has been SO MUCH going on for the past couple of months that we have had to keep secret…
A couple weeks after the wedding in December, my wife called me to tell me that she had taken a pregnancy test and she wasn’t sure if she did it right. I was shocked and excited and rushed home as soon as possible. When I got home, I read the instructions for the test and looked at her test to see one bold line and one very faint line. When Yoli got home I made her take another test, and boom, there were two lines—one of them really bold, and the other one super faint, and we were STILL not convinced. So, the next morning Yoli took another test and made me take a test…
YUP, I TOOK A PREGNANCY TEST!
And as you can see from the photo above, I am NOT pregnant! So, I bought her a digital pregnancy test and it came up positive! WE ARE HAVING A BABY!
We went to see her doctor, and let me just say, guys, be happy you are not a female. I watched as the doctor examined my wife, and the clamp….OH THAT CLAMP! Ladies, I truly have so much more respect for you!!
The doctor confirmed the pregnancy and even gave us an ultrasound photo of our baby!!
During the next couple weeks, we have pretty much stayed at home, not really doing much, but also we both caught that cold going around, which helped to keep us from going out, but we definitely had friends who suspected something was going on and would even ask, “Are you pregnant?” Both my wife and I agreed that we would keep everything a secret until roughly after the first trimester (as most couples like to do). So, with that being said, this was the toughest secret to keep! Imagine keeping the best news quiet for weeks without being able to tell family and your best friends. It’s so tough!!!
Fast forward to yesterday, we are approaching the last part of our first trimester and we had to go in for the first trimester screening. I felt so bad for my wife because she had to drink 25 ounces of water to have a full bladder. On top of that she drank too early, so as we drove to the hospital she was miserable!
We finally checked in and got to fully spend time with the ultrasound tech that showed us our baby!!! CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS HERE!!!!
As soon as I got home, we were excited to share the photos with our family, and some of them say the baby’s profile looks a lot like me!
